Our top 3 bars in Bali for Sundowners
When staying in Bali, one of the most important decisions is where to take in the amazing sunsets.
There are a couple of Temples you can choose to do this and you’ll find those recommendations in our Top 3 Things to Do in Bali. But if you want to watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand, we have a few other suggestions:
1. La Plancha – so this was our favourite place in Bali full stop. Great for lunch but even more so for hanging out for sunset. Around 3pm, they start putting out the giant multi coloured beanbags on the beach together with their equally colourful umbrellas and lanterns. By 5pm you will be hard pushed to find an empty space on a beanbag so our recommendation is to get there early; invite a few friends along; order a few mojitos and settle in for the view. You won’t be disappointed.
2. Potato Head – Potato Head is another Bali institution. Known as where the “cool kids” hang out but you can definitely see why. With very fashionable & stylish bar area, a huge grass area for people to catch some rays during the day, not to mention an infinity pool overlooking Seminyak beach, you can see why this one of the go to places in Bali. We preferred to go later in the evening when things were a bit quieter and not quite so jam packed but sunsets here are pretty special. They have a full range of innovative cocktails – I remember the zombie being pretty tasty. If you want some food to go with the cocktails, order the Burrata – a-may-zing!
3. Ku de Ta – on the same stretch of beach as the other two options – not quite as spacious as Potato Head but normally attracts the same type of crowd and has the same vibe with day beds to lounge on, looking out over the sea. What´s not to like?!!
And if after all those cocktails you still want to keep the party going, head over to Mexicola for beers, tequila shots and dancing on tables then on to Bali Joes or Mixwells for more dancing and some great drag shows including a damn good Beyoncé impersonator!
